Experience as Attorney at Law
Dr. Thomas Kainz, LL.M. (London) started his career in the arbitration department of Austrias major law firm Wolf Theiss, followed up by an almost five year practice as partner and head of the civil law and litigation department of Vienna’s business law firm Kerres | Partners. There he has helped various injured investors as well as companies and foundations to be successful in investors claims in the Commercial Court Vienna (HG Wien), the Higher Regional Court Vienna (OLG Wien) and the Supreme Court (OGH).
Dr. Thomas Kainz, LL.M. (London) has also litigated several significant tort and contract disputes mentioned in the media as well as inter alia inheritance and corporate disputes in Vienna’s district, commercial and regional courts. In addition, Dr. Thomas Kainz, LL.M. (London) has represented in a number of arbitral proceedings in English as well as German language.
International Expertise
Dr. Thomas Kainz, LL.M. (London) received his additional expertise through studies at the University of Vienna (PhD 2008, International Law) and King’s College London of the University of London (LL.M. 2007, Comparative and International Dispute Resolution). Since August 4, 2016, Dr. Thomas Kainz, LL.M. (London) is also a Member of the Berlin Bar Association and as such entitled to excercice legal services in Germany according to §§ 1 to 3 Federal Lawyers’ Act (“Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung”, “BRAO”) as attorney of the Vienna Bar Association, Member of the Berlin Bar Association.

Due to his international education, his stays abroad in London, Cambridge and the United States of America as well as arbitration proceedings held in English, Dr. Thomas Kainz, LL.M. (London) litigates equally in English and German language.
